I has Pop Irony. Pop Irony is the album that Vega is on. I am very happy. That is all. End broadcast.
So perhaps you've heard of Koda Kumi (倖田來未). She is an R&B singer from Japan who I would imagine is pretty talented as far as her music goes. I recently downloaded her latest single, MOON (yes, in all caps), but the only song I've heard from it so far is the one with Fergie: That Ain't Cool. It's a decent song, but Fergie sings most of it, which is really too bad because I feel like a song with Fergie should showcase Koda more. That way, if her recording company decides to release this single in the US (if it does get released, it'll be in the summer), you get a really good single and the added bonus of seeing Fergie as opposed to having a Fergie single with a really hot Asian chick backing her up.
But anyway, see/judge for yourself.
That Ain't Cool (Music Video)
Don't you love how Kumi keeps rubbing herself up and down Fergie?
If you pay attention, you'll notice that even in the chorus, Kumi is singing the harmony. It's her single!! She should at LEAST be singing lead in the chorus.

To Whom This May Concern:
It would appear that there is an amazing website that sells the album that the song "Vega" is on. This album, "Pop Irony," has eluded me for just about ever. But finally I found a Godsend of a website that will send me my wonderful wonderful "Pop Irony." And, of course, I have purchased the album. It will be arriving in a few weeks since they had to backorder it from Japan. But it will be here!!!!!!!! And I will listen to it and be happy happy happy. As only us music nerdy happy people can feel after a music purchase.
Furthermore. I will post the music on my imeem profile. Of course, those fortunate people who happen to hear it on my profile will NOT be able to download the songs without purchasing them. In fact, they won't be able to download them at all. They will have to go through the trouble of buying the actual album. I'm spending 40 freakin' dollars on this CD. And this band is not really well known at all. But midnightPumpkin is an excellent ska band as you can tell from the song that automatically plays when you get to my livejournal. *sigh* I'm very very very excited. Can't you tell?
Oh by the way, if you want to support the artists in Japan, buy their albums. If you can find them, have the money, and have the extreme desire to hold the physical CD in your hand as opposed to just having the mp3s on the computer, PLEASE PLEASE purchase the CDs. so...just for you, North America, I am posting the ONLY website that has had the CD... http://www.jpophelp.com/scripts/newsite/i ndex.asp

An album that I have wanted for a LONNNNG time but could never find is going to be MINE!!!! It's a Japanese ska band album. And it hath eluded me thusfar..... until i google-d j-pop and j-pophelp something or other popped up as one of the results. Then i clicked le link and searched their database for the band. and i found the album that VEGA is on and bought it. i'm paying 40 buckaroonies for it.
But let me just explain, before you go all: I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PAID THAT MUCH FOR A CD!!!!!!! on me.
I have wanted this cd for just about ever. not only that, but it's INCREDIBLY hard to find. Like it's not even sold on Amazon.com. and amazon sells everything right? WRONG!!!!!!! just. just. wrong. but now, the album is mine and i will have that shiny hard plastic case in my hands and will be able to touch the awesome album cover. then i will smell the album insert and i will nearly orgasm because it will be so amazing. and THEN!!! i will take the cd out of its case and slip it into my computer after which i will salivate greedily until it starts playing. and it will be so perfect. so so so so perfect.
but yes. i'm stupid for paying $40 for a cd. hence the icon. but really, it will be sweet and excellent. and *sigh* i can't wait.

Today is the day I'm supposed to leave for LA after being here in SB for a full three weeks+ without going home. The quarter ended for me yesterday at around 10-ish and I celebrated by eating breakfast at Ortega. And then I did absolutely nothing productive. And I took a nap for 6 hours...It was amazing. Is it possible to have an orgasmic nap? Because that's about how amazing it was.
Anyway, Jennifer, my ride, is taking awhile for us to be able to leave and I am sad. I want to go home and eat excellent food again. I miss fresh sushi. Hell, I miss actual sushi. Here at the dining commons they serve these icky things called California Club Rolls. Now, at first this sounds amazing because it says "California" and "Roll." And then you see that there's an extra word: "Club." You first think it's a mistake, but it's not. It means that the roll is like club sandwich...know why? Because it has bacon in it. Yup, that's right...it has bacon... and it's a California Roll. It's a club sandwich and a California Roll. And it's disgusting. Then there's the Teriyaki Roll....it's disgusting...Then there's the Tempura Roll....it's also disgusting. Then they have this one roll that has, like, sun-dried tomatoes and cream cheese in it. I didn't even try it. It even sounds disgusting. This is why I miss Sawtelle Blvd. Japanese places owned by actual Japanese people who make actual sushi.
I also miss my mom's cooking. A LOT.
And Indian food.
And my friends.
And..................................... ........................................ ......................... I can't think of anything else at the moment. But I know that I miss more things about home.
I'm really hungry. But Kaitlyn (my roommate) and I finished the last of the food a couple of days ago. Now all I have is a giant package of chopsticks. I can't even remember why I bought them in the first place. Hmmm....maybe I have some Raisinets left.
I really want to go to some concerts. I sort of went to one last night. It was a live performance on KCSB and since I have friends in high places (Actually it's just that Jennifer and her friend are on KJUC getting trained for KCSB) and we got to sit in on the show. It was excellent. I'm going to add the radio show as a friend on Myspace. It's called 5..4..3..2..fun. Yay Josh. Anyway, Fishboy made me realize that I haven't gone to a concert in the longest time and that I need to go. hehe. I added Fishboy as a friend on Myspace already. Yay Fishboy.
That's all.
